Ancestral Weavings
2023
A new series of work Ancestral Weavings brings the colors, textures and inspiration of the mother weavers, mamitas tejedoras, the ancient Spider-woman and stories of the great-grandmothers weaving threads of gold.

An expressive contemporary multi-media fusion with techniques that reflect the vision of the ancestral future.

Agua de Vida is vibrant, living energy embodying the spirit of water and life itself, echoing with the graceful presence of hummingbirds, the gentle dance of the sun and moon, and the timeless beauty of flowers. Infused with ancestral symbols deeply influenced by the Mexicatl people and the Nahuatl cosmology, these paintings are a celebration of the sacred connection with the life-giving forces of the natural world, inviting you to embrace the beauty of Creation.
Samakei
2021
Profound visions by Delfina Mun born during her spiritual study and dieta alongside her dear friend and teacher, Hushahu Yawanawa. These paintings tell a story of resilience, growth and transformation in the heart of the jungle. A spiritual journey through the dark night waters to the freedom of an Eagle’s flight and the flower’s bloom, with the courage of the jaguar.
The Root
2021
Originally commissioned for Camden Arts Centre's "The Botanical Mind" exhibition, ‘The Root’ is a mesmerizing journey beckoning us to embrace our essential connection to our Great Mother. These paintings pulse with the ancient wisdom of the Earth, extending an invitation to cradle ourselves once more in the nurturing arms of Mother Nature.
“La copa del árbol abrazó el cielo, y en su raíz, el secreto”
“The treetop embraced the sky, and in it’s root, the secret”
From Corazón de Barro, a song by Delfina.
Secrets of our innate connection to the roots of existence are in the depths of our own being, when we have the courage to feel the powerful thread that binds us to the very core of the Earth.
Maza Yuawi
2020
As Delfina painted the cover for her album Pájaro, she re-encountered the transformative power of the peyote medicine. This moment of deep connection unfolded alongside visions of a bird transforming like a phoenix—its fiery spirit rising from the ashes, with subtle antlers shaped by stars.
This theme of rebirth continued in her paintings of Mazatl Yuawi, the blue deer of the night, where the sacred union of Ayahuasca and peyote is reflected. Under the cloak of night and the glow of the Tate Wari, the fire, these works capture the essence of profound change, as the spirit is reborn and illuminated.
Yawanawa
2018
A vibrant series from a profound immersion and years of living in the Amazon Rainforest alongside the resilient and talented Yawanawa family. As she served as a teacher of painting and art for the youth in Huni Kuin, Shanenawa and Yawanawa villages, Delfina became a student of the Yawanawa's ancient tradition of chants and melodies.
This series is colored with the lush greens of the rainforest, the vibrant reds of urucum, and the deep blacks of jenipapo, the indigenous natural body paints.
Amidst the magnificent presence of the 'Samauma', one of the world's largest trees, these visions delve into the timeless traditions of Yawanawa chants and the mesmerizing 'Shenipahu' oral stories, with ancestral symbols that appear subtly in these paintings, as well as the ‘Kênê’, sacred geometric emblems that materialize spiritual strength in visual forms.
The Sound of Silence
2017
In The Sound of Silence, Delfina's watercolors are an artistic fusion of the animal and plant realms, guided by the profound visions of Ayahuasca. These mesmerizing artworks are adorned with symbols that resonate across diverse ancestral cultures, offering a glimpse into our shared human subconscious.
Within these watercolors, birds birth the first universal melodies, serpents symbolize spiritual growth and fertility, and flowers and plants beckon us to their mysterious world. Visions from the silence of the mind and the soul's timeless song, inviting us to tune in to nature's whispers and ancient wisdom.
