The Plants are Singing
Exhibition Activity for The Botanical Mind: Art, Mysticism and the Cosmic Tree at the Camden Art Centre, London
Camden Art Centre commissioned five artists to create a series of exhibition activities alongside their own work and themes present in The Botanical Mind. These explore foraging, sound, language, drawing and meditation, and enable us to connect with the works in the exhibition and the world around us.
The Plants are Singing - Delfina Muñoz de Toro
Merging vision and sound, rhythm and pattern, colour and melody. This exercise aims to expand how we see and understand the world, and invites you to think about the senses of sound and sight as things which exist together.

The Artist
Delfina Muñoz de Toro is an indigenist, visual artist and musician from Argentina. Her work is guided by her spiritual studies with plants and indigenous traditions of the Amazon Rainforest. This new painting created especially for The Botanical Mind, represents a process of spiritual growth that starts in the darkness with deep roots rising up from the shadows – eventually returning to the light of the moon.
