“Shunua” is an acrylic on canvas, 150x110cm painting of the great Mother Tree of the Amazon, the Samauma.

On the lower part of the painting, the people of the forest are connecting to the spiritual realm through plants and ritual. The pajé, the medicine man is preparing the sacred brew, while the curandera, the woman healer is giving a herbal bath.

On the roots of the Great Tree fragments of the history of the rainforest people of the Pano nations appear: the serpent woman, the origin of the medicines, the traditional sacred geometries…

At the top, the Txana, the bird that sings all the melodies of the forest, carries the songs and flies into its hanging nest.

This is a painting that reflects the deep spiritual wisdom that lives in the Amazon Rainforest, preserved by the knowledge-keepers and the sacred plants.
