A Journey from the depths into the light.

"The Root" is a new acrylic on canvas painting, 150x126 cm, that has emerged from a period of feeling and transitioning this profound healing humanity is going through.

With the serpent of transformation digging at the roots of what needs to be changed fundamentally to ascend into the light of the moon, the sun and the stars, rising with the butterflies and winged beings who teach the lightness of spirit.

This painting was made as a commission for the Camden Arts Centre in London. The Botanical Mind: Art, Mysticism and the Cosmic Tree is a beautiful exhibition that investigates the significance of the plant kingdom to human life, consciousness and spirituality across cultures and through time, curated by Gina Buenfeld and Martin Clark. The CAC will reopen September 24 for this expansive group exhibition where two original paintings will be exhibited next to legendary works of art such as original paintings of Carl Jung’s Red Book, and other artists such as Annie Albers, Josef Albers, Shipibo and Huni Kuin artists from the Amazon Rainforest.
